Business & Economics

At Canadian universities, the study of Business and/or Commerce involves an exciting mix of in-depth theoretical study with hands-on experience, ensuring all graduates are equipped with the knowledge, communication techniques, entrepreneurial skills, and professional attitudes necessary to succeed in today’s global business environment. By taking part in one of our universities’ four-year Bachelor’s programs, students will get to choose from a wide range of courses and/or specializations in such fields as; accounting, computing and information systems, economics, finance, general business studies, international business, human resource management and industrial relations, management, marketing, management for not-for-profit entrepreneurs, small business management and entrepreneurship.

Specialized Economics students, on the other hand, spend their time studying the roles of government, business, financial institutions, and individuals as they interact to determine the distribution of a country’s total range of goods and services. Students develop a foundation of theoretical knowledge and the analytical skills required to address such issues as unemployment, inflation, interest rates, and wages. Topics of study include: supply and demand, money and banking, public finance, price theory, taxation and international trade.

Many students combine the study of Economics along with their Finance, Business, or Commerce programs.
