Psych, Sociology, Culture

If you are interested in learning more about why people (and societies) are the way they are, then a degree in one of the following areas may be right for you!

And what’s even better news? The fact that program options in at least one of the following fields are available at each and every one of our CUAC institutions – so no matter where you want to study, you can focus in this area.

Psychology:

Is the science of the human mind; how and why we behave the way we do, and how to use that knowledge to create better relationships and organizations. With program options allowing students to choose from pursuing a psychology degree in either the Arts or Science streams, psychology is one area of study that yields a lot of flexibility – both in course selection, as well as career opportunities later on. With a degree in Psychology, graduates can work in a huge variety of fields – including education, business, media, corrections, child care, human resources, advertising, counseling, and therapy.

Sociology & Anthropology:

Considering the societal and anthropological side of such issues as world cultures, environment, race and discrimination, organization of the workplace, agrarian development, agribusiness and food, youth, homelessness, native peoples issues, women and the law, police and society, social movements in developing countries, and world religions – these are just a few of the types of topics covered by the realm of sociology and/or anthropology. Preparing students for exciting careers in such areas as archaeology, human rights work, public service employment, and overseas development work, degrees in these fields are both practical as well as fascinating.

Looking for a different type of sociological studies? Why not consider majoring in Criminology and/or Criminal Justice – with exciting options available at Saint Mary’s, Windsor, and Algoma.
