UNIVERSITY OF GUELPH

University of Guelph

Welcome to Guelph, a Victorian-era small town with all the amenities of a big city. Voted one of the ten best places to live in Canada, Guelph is one of Canada's fastest growing economic regions.

The bustling city of just under 150,000 contains parks and trails where you can hike, mountain bike, and rock climb. If you prefer to play indoors, Guelph has numerous live music and jazz clubs to choose from, or you can catch an ice hockey game at the Sleeman Centre hockey rink.

Guelph is one hour west of Toronto, Canada's largest city. It's also one of the safest cities in Canada. With transit running back and forth between the two cities you're never far away from the most happening spot in the country.

The University of Guelph is ranked one of Canada's top comprehensive universities, and its programs are dedicated to the environment and quality of life. Its brand new integrated science complex is the largest of its kind in North America, and the Biodiversity Institute of Ontario gives students first hand access to cutting-edge work in DNA barcoding.

There are 700 international students at Guelph from 100 different countries. The START International program helps all new international students get settled into the campus and gives them the tips and skills they'll need to succeed in their studies in Canada. And all students are guaranteed a spot in the University's residence in their first year, so you don't have to worry about finding a place to live or being too far from your new friends.
