Scholarships for International Students

Students from abroad interested in attending a Canadian university have gained another incentive to study in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Algoma University is introducing 10 new scholarships for international students, with a total combined annual value of $7,500.

The new awards are grouped into two classes. The Algoma University International Student Entrance Scholarship will provide five awards of $1,000 to international students entering their first-year of post-secondary studies at the university. Potential recipients will be evaluated based on academic achievement and on a 500 word essay explaining why they chose to attend Algoma U.The second award is the Algoma University International In-Course Scholarship, which will provide $750 to five full-time students who have maintained an academic average over 80% in the previous two semesters.

Undergraduate:

Algoma University offers various renewable and non-renewable entrance scholarships ranging from $500 to $3,500 CAN. Students do not need to apply for this scholarship, they would automatically be considered upon admission.

Graduate:

Master of Science (Computer Gaming Technology)
An Algoma University Award, valued up to $5000 CDN is available to International students. Applications are included in the Welcome Package distributed to students who accept the admission offer. MSc (Computer Games Technology) students in one of the following categories are eligible to apply:

  • A Canadian Student
  • An Algoma University Graduate
  • An International Student

There is one award of up to $5000 CDN available for each category.
