Scholarships for International Students

The University of Winnipeg offers many scholarships to its International Students.

Collegiate

A variety of scholarships are offered for those in different grades and different areas of study. For a complete list of available scholarships at the Collegiate, click here

Undergraduate

International students are eligible for some entrance scholarships based on excellent academic standing. You will be automatically considered if you apply for FALL admission by March 1.

International students are also eligible for ongoing awards based on their academic achievement at UWinnipeg – max $500/year.

Special Entrance Scholarship
NOTE: The Special Entrance Scholarship is only open to those that apply to Fall admissions PRIOR TO MARCH 1ST

Only students with at least five approved 40S (Grade 12 or senior level) credits will be considered for a University of Winnipeg Special Entrance Scholarship (See below).

A minimum average of 80% on the best five of the approved 40S (Grade 12 or senior level) credits.
Standing in full-credit Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate courses is approved for scholarship calculation purposes.
If final grade are unavailable, interim grades, submitted by high schools in spring, will be used.

The two students with the highest incoming averages will be awarded the $4,000 Chancellor’s Special Entrance Scholarships.

Students with averages of 95.0% or higher will receive a $2,250 scholarship.
Students with averages of 90.0% to 94.9% will receive a $1,750 scholarship.
Students with averages of 86.0% to 89.9% will receive a $1,100 scholarship.
Students with averages of 80.0% to 85.9% will receive a $800 scholarship.

After completing one year (two terms) at The University of Winnipeg, international students can apply for a wider range of undergraduate awards and scholarships for continuing students.

Continuing Education

Canadian Public Relations Society Scholarship
Criteria: Must be enrolled in the UWDCE Public Relations Diploma Program.
Value: $250 annually

Curtis Nordman Bursary
Criteria: Must be enrolled in UWDCE diploma or certificate program and demonstrate a financial need.
Deadline: June 30th, annually
Value: Up to $500
