Aishwarya Radhakrishnan from the UAE
St. Thomas University Class of 2020

I am originally Indian but I've lived in Dubai my entire life. When I was in the 12th grade, I went to a career fair to explore my possible options. That's where I found out about STU. What peaked my interest in STU was that it was an exclusively liberal arts university. I am planning on doing a double major in psychology and criminology, and so, the fact that STU is a liberal arts university made it a good choice for me. Also, I liked the fact that STU is a smaller university and has a smaller society. As I am not the most extroverted person, this made it easier for me to make friends and settle into the community.

STU has also provided me with many different opportunities. Last year, I was in the university’s track and field team and this was an incredible experience. I wasn’t used to running on hills so that was something new to me. This year, I got the opportunity to be a welcome week leader for the off-campus first year students. Due to this, I got to demonstrate my leadership abilities and I got to enjoy welcome week again!

STU is an incredible university, one that you will not forget. I’ve met so many amazing people this past year and I’m glad to call STU home.
