Asteria (Xue'er) Wang from Chengdu, China
St. Thomas University Class of 2020

I am Asteria, an international student who is studying in STU as a first-year student. In the past two months, no matter it was open-mind language courses or rigorous academic classes, I enjoy them all. The courses are so motivating and interesting that I do not even know which branch I'm going to choose for further studies. By taking small-size classes, I no longer feel restricted and have courage to ask what I am confused about during class time. Now I am living in a school off-campus residence called Rigby Hall. With lots of enthusiastic and amicable local and international students here, I do not feel lonely anymore. In addition, the numerous activities on campus and in residence fill my leisure time. The International Students Orientation Day especially gave me a deep impression. No matter where you are, no matter where you come from, language is not the border to gain new friendship. You can be happy in learning and can grow in a new environment - these are the reasons why I like this school.
