Health Information Science

The University of Victoria's Health Information Science program trains students to be effective leaders, consultants, and developers in the field of health care delivery.

This cutting edge program will teach you how health data is collected and stored, and communicated, and how that information affects the daily decisions of doctors, nurses, governments, and health care administrators.

All the lectures are given by PhD professors and practicing health care workers in the community, so you get access to both academic and professional teaching styles. Small class sizes mean you'll have one-on-one attention from your professors so you can get the most out of your degree.

Health Information Science has a mandatory co-op education program so you'll be able to earn money and valuable experience while you study. Put your new knowledge to work in co-op terms in Canada, Europe, Australia, India, and the US. You'll graduate with twelve months of relevant work experience in government, private, and public hospital and care-giving institutions.

Since 1997, 100% of graduates have been employed as consultants, designers, analysts, and researchers. In fact, many Health Information Science students at the University of Victoria have jobs well before they graduate!
