Master of Technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation (MTEI)
The Master of Technology Entrepreneurship & Innovation is a graduate business degree focused on technology - the only one of its kind on Canada's East Coast. It goes beyond pure technical or business education. Our program gives technology entrepreneurs the skills they need to become sought-after, hybrid leaders who can solve today's complex business challenges.
A key strength of the program lies in the expertise of our respected faculty, and our close ties with industry. Our small class sizes mean students reap the benefit of these close interactions, gaining knowledge from faculty, industry mentors and fellow students alike.
Women are under-represented in the tech industry. We’re working hard to change that. The MTEI program was founded by award-winning professor and researcher, Dr. Dawn Jutla and half of the program’s professors are women.
You can complete a Master of Technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation degree in just 12 or 16 months. Attend classes on Fridays and Saturdays of each week over 8 months, then choose to complete a project, gain practical skills and knowledge from an internship, or develop a thesis.
Our curriculum incorporates principles of management, marketing, leadership, finance, accounting, communications, economics, and information technology, and integrates them with best practices from industry.
Once your coursework is completed, choose one of the following:
Applied Project (12 - 16 months): Complete the MTEI degree in as little as a year with this option. Launch a new business, product or service, or enter your student team into InNOVACorp's best practice incubator facilities.
Internship (16 months): If eligible, you could enter industry within 8 months of starting the MTEI program and spend another 8 months as an intern. You’ll immerse yourself in entrepreneurial and innovative organizations, gain industry exposure and get hands-on learning opportunities.
MTEI Thesis Option (16 months): Under the supervision of an approved faculty member, identify a technology or business-related problem and write a thesis in an area of technological entrepreneurship and innovation. Gain and refine valuable research skills with this option, even prepare yourself for the pursuit of a PhD.
